上星期六(四月七日)是個大日子，亦是一個好開始，終於在北京開始了第一次咖啡欣賞會！
 
婉玲帶來了一班好朋友：夏秋、小仇、小龍、布布、張宇、愛娜、立波、蔡一平、許熠、豆米、馬克、大聖及女友...(如有遺漏請告訴我)
 
好朋友們帶來了巧克力餅啦、沫茶芝士餅啦、Relibakery 巧克力蛋糕啦、洛克酥啦、薄荷巧克力啦、合桃批啦、豐冨午飯啦, 婉玲的導演朋友的銿記燒鵝及各人帶來的開心故事...
 
還有是張宇及布布的生日祝賀...生日快樂！

There are so many tiny things to do and learn when starting a new home, here is one example
 
'Buy electricity'
to check the meter outside the flat, when LED number appear and counting down, that means electicity is using up soon--> need to go to the bank 'buy electricity'--> it is annoying to go to the bank, always full of ppl, need to wait wait and wait...--> after paying money, I went back home to check the meter but the number was still counting down--> waiting for few days the meter was still counting down, why? --> fortunately BJ friend came and helped me to insert the electricity card into the meter to 're-charge the value'   
 
Again, due to serious traffic jam, one day can't do more than one big thing

I come back BJ la!
 
When the air-plane flying above BJ city (b4 landing), I saw snow still covering part of the ground. I was thinking whether I still had chance to take some snow scenes. It was a sunny day and the sky was so blue, I was afraid that the snow melted quickly.
 
Yesterday I decided to go to the forest to see see...
 
People was playing snooker beside the forest, amazing!

過去的三個月與這兩隻小魘怪同住，經常爭看电視。他們從星加坡帶了一些VCD來，卡通片啦、兒童music video啦、類似芝麻街的教育節目啦。原本是好看的，但不知為甚麽，他們很喜歡重覆播放，不是一次兩次，而是一天兩天又重覆又重覆。但是每次都興高采烈，跟着又唱又跳，樂此不疲。又常常內鬥，爭看不同的重覆節目，終日熱熱鬧鬧。原本是好玩的，但每天都是就慘了，根本不能夠在家工作。責罸又不得，會哭的。
 
今天早上要離別了，之後我再回來他們已經回星加坡上學，已後再見机會很少了。
 
看着看着還是想跟他們拍些照片留念，結果玩下玩下玩出火了，當要離開的時候他們抓着我的行李不放，擋着門不開，終於硬着走了過去，心裏還是不安的。

您們知道甚麽是'拿貨'嗎?
 
不要誤會，這些貨不是那些'貨', hahaha。這是一個地方，拿貨的人都會帶着一個大袋 (usually dirty) 或手拉車，衣着比較舊及灰，然後東看看西看看，看見合心水的就會問: "拿這個要多少錢?" 或 "拿多少多少可以給我好價錢嗎?" 或 "有多少可以拿"...可是，真的有趣，這裏沒有一個人會說"買"的。
 
"拿"就是這裏的術語，攜着大dirty plastic bag (w/trolley) 就是 dress code。
 
這是昨天北京朋友帶我去的地方，最後我亦'拿'了兩件，$265 及 $130，十分便宜。當拿第二件的時候老板娘有点不高興，因為我只拿了一件及企圖試身，我想她知道我不是'拿貨人'了(雖然由始至終我都說'拿')。

A BJ friend held a birthday party on Friday. I thought it's a good oppertunity for Chef Chan to show his talent.

 

Do u remember Chef Chan? A famous baker coming from Singapore living with me in Joe's home who is employed as the products superviser of K'n B (see blog #2 for details).  Now he starts to develop a chef series of cakes in a branch shop. In the future this branch shop will become a role model for other shops to learn.

 

I ordered a big birthday cake (for 15 guests) from him and gave him a cake design photo (from a Japanese cake catalogue which Cherry brought it from Japan) as reference.

 

On Wednsday I went to the branch shop to taste the cake samples, double layers cheese cake; chocolate and coffee cakes...etc. All were tasteful and difficult to be chosen as the constituent of the bday cake.

Finally he told me that he wanted to do the simple recipe: strawberry cream sponge cake. He gave me a sample to taste. I found that it was simple but very balance in texture, sweetness, richness and highlighted by a little sourness of strawberry. The overall feeling was fresh which kept me couldn't stop eating and eating.

On Friday since the party would be held at 10:00pm, I went to pick up the cake at ~7:00pm. However, I found that the design looking different from the reference photo I gave him before. I was thinking I had to respect chef's own creative idea so I finally accepted the cake.

Before leaving I went to toilet for a while. When I came back I was very surprised that Chef Chan dismentled the cake and rebuilt it again. 

He told me that he forgot to follow the reference photo!

I had nothing to say and let him to re-do the cake. Then I picked my camera out and shot the process.

It only required about 15 mins to re-build the cake! So efficient.

Finally that night guests enjoyed the cake very much and asked me where to buy it from.

I felt very proud of chef Chan. ^_^

Today went back to the small district, more ppl than that day, so treated it as a theater, shot the ppl together. Quite happy.

Originally I wanted to take landscape photos there but many ppl and bicycles were going around. Then started thinking to change the topic to bicycles. There are so many bicycle designs in Beijing (China), so this may be a good photo topic.

When going to the forest, I have to walk through a small district. The road is narrow with many small shops and many ppl straying around with nothing to do. Every time when I walked through the road, my photo equipment attracted them to gaze at me. I felt not comfortable. However, that day I couldn't stop myself to take photo there. I set my camera in front of a lorry full of cabbage and beside it was a big rubbish bin. After my 4x5 camera was set, I found that there were more than 20 ppl surrounding me and seemed that the number was increasing and the road was almost blocked. I opened the pinhole to expose the film immediately and tried to finish the shot a.s.a.p. Then I rolled a cigarette and talked to the crowd friendly. In fact this was an action to calm down myself and keep myself alert to the situation might change. Ten minutes later I finished the shot and packed all the stuff to leave. Fortunately although they stood very closed to me and the camera, they did nothing harmful.
 
Although they stood still, I couldn't take anyone of them on my photo (left one).

Hello friends, do you remember I mentioned the forest near the police station on blog #17? I finally went back and found that place. It is not located in the rural area but a trees cultivating farm. Here were few shots taken few days ago.
